Mangalore: Girish Putran murder - another arrested; car, gold confiscated

Mangalore, Apr 11: With the arrest of Prashant alias Pachchu (27) on Wednesday April 10 in the murder case relating to Girish Putran from Hoige Bazaar in the city, the police claim they have succeeded in nabbing all the people involved with the killing.

The police had recovered two gold chains belonging to Girish from Rajesh, a bracelet from Natasha, and one of the two finger rings from Prashant, who reportedly has sold the other ring to an unidentified person in the local railway station. The Hyundai Eon car, as well as the knife used for the murder have also been recovered.
Girish (50), a trader in fish at Bunder area in the city was murdered on December 22, 2012, and his body bearing 73 stab marks, was found from Moorukody in Permude village near Bajpe the next day. It is said that a love triangle between Rajesh, Natasha, and Girish, led to the murder.
Girish was reportedly killed in a moving car by strangulating and then stabbing him repeatedly. After robbing gold ornaments on his body, the accused had thrown the body, before tossing away Girish’s cell phone near Bantwal. Girish’s clothes were burnt down at Beltangady thereafter, to erase all traces of murder.
The personnel of Bajpe police station made the above arrest from Shivbaug in the city. Prashant was produced in a court here. Bajpe inspector, Dinakar Shetty and other personnel made the arrest. Prashant is said to be an employee of Mescom, and the friend of Natasha, another accused in the case. Prashant reportedly drove the car that was used at the time of murdering Putran.
Natasha and Rajesh from Kodikal, were arrested on February 9 this year, whereas main accused, Ritesh (28) from Malemar here, was taken into custody on March 31.
