New Delhi, Apr 1 (IANS): Delhi Police Monday said three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of BSP leader and business tycoon Deepak Bhardwaj here last week.
"We have arrested two men who shot dead Deepak Bhardwaj March 26. The third person who drove the Skoda car in which they entered (his) premises has also been arrested," Additional Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar told IANS.
"We cannot reveal the name of the place from where they were arrested," he added.
One of the accused who was driving the car and arrested Sunday has been identified as Amit. The other two were identified as Sunil alias Sonu and Purushottam alias Monu.
Bhardwaj, a realtor and the richest candidate in the 2009 Lok Sabha election with declared assets of over Rs.600 crore, was shot dead March 26 around 9 a.m. at his 35-acre farmhouse in Rajokri in south Delhi.
The two suspected killers, along with an accomplice, fled in a Skoda car with a fake registration number.
The killers had entered the farmhouse on the pretext of meeting Bhardwaj. He was shot in the head and chest.
