Mangalore: Harsh Gupta to be new deputy commissioner?

Mangalore, Mar 27: If sources are to be believed, IAS officer, Harsh Gupta, presently working as labour commissioner at Bangalore, will be posted in place of the present deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, N Prakash. This posting will be a part of the shuffles being made in view of the forthcoming assembly election.
Harsh Gupta was born on September 24, 1971, at New Delhi. He secured an engineering degree, and served at New Delhi after passing IAS examination in 1997. He has since worked as the chief executive officer of Bellary zilla panchayat, chief manager in the department of urban development at Bagalkot, and deputy commissioner of Chamarajanagara district.
He thereafter was made the deputy commissioner of Chikmagalur district, joint commissioner of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, managing director of Karnataka Milk Federation, and deputy commissioner of Bellary, Shimoga, Mysore and Bidar districts.
Harsh Gupta, who has undergone lot of transfers and postings within a short period, is being seen as a no-nonsense officer who is not only strict and disciplined, but also the one who lays emphasis on following rules and laws.
N Prakash has completed only three months as DC of Dakshina Kannada. He took charge of the post on December 3, 2012.
