Mangalore: Annual athletic meet held at SJEC

Mangalore, Mar 7: The 6th Annual Athletic Meet was organized at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangalore on March 6 in the college ground.

The athletic meet was conducted for students, teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college.

 

Kenneth Lobo, operations manager, Decathlon Sports, Bangalore and alumni was the chief guest. Speaking on this occasion he expressed his past glorious experience he had in the college ground.

He highlighted that sports has the ability to bring all together. “Sports teach us to face all criticisms work together to achieve our goal,” he said.

He thanked Shailesh Kumar S, physical director SJEC for his past 8 years of tremendous service to the college.

On this occasion Elizabeth, third year CS, was honoured for her second new meet record in shot-put at VTU Level.

Fr Joseph Lobo, director; Fr Ajith Menezes, assistant director; Fr Rohith D’Costa , assistant director were the guests of honor of the programme. The programme was presided by Dr Joseph Gonsalves, principal of the college. 

Dr Rio D’Souza, vice-principal and    Dr Ramananda, sports advisor were the other dignitaries on the dais. The vote of thanks proposed by Dr Ramananda, sports advisor SJEC. Various events were held in the annual athletic meet.

Closing of the ceremony of annual athletic meet was held at 4:30pm. The winners were awarded. The vote of thanks proposed by Vanisha V Rodrigues, assistant physical director SJEC.

The ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.
