Beltangady, Feb 28: Recognizing his endless service in the field of culture, religion, social service, education, rural development, health and others, Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala will be conferred with the Devi Ahilyabai National award.
The award has been instituted by Sri Ahilyotsava committee in Indore for the past 15 years and this year they will be conferring the 16th edition of the prestigious award to Dharmadhikari Dr Heggade.
So far, eminent personalities like Nanaji Deshmukh, Dr BR Chidambaram, Vijayaraje Shindhya, Sudha Moorthy and several others have recieved this award.
The award consists of Rs 1 lac in cash which will be awarded during the ceremony to be held at Indore on March 2.
"Swami Swaroopnandaji Saraswathi Swamiji of Phulpur Ashram near Pune will be the main guest while Justice Ramesh Chandra Laho, retired chief justice of supreme court will be the guest of honor", said national award committee president Sumitra Mahajan and working president Ashok Daga in a press release.
