Kundapur, Feb 21: Print mistakes in newspapers and books may be quite common but when it comes to currency notes printed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it is a different matter altogether.

A 20 rupee note in possession of comic artist and district Independence Day award winner G B Kalaikar from Gangolli has an interesting defect.

The currency note is partly overlapped by another 20-rupee note, along with the serial number.

Though the note is rendered useless because of this defect, Kalaikar has made it part of his collection.

    As I have already written once here-
    The ultimate test of a currency note now is(as told by somebody)
    Fold the note and lay it on a table.
    Bang the note laid on the table.
    If 'Bapus' Spectacles are broken then the note is a fake.....
    Somebody told me... Now don't hold anything against me...I have not tried....

    It could be a fake note.
    My friend experienced the fake Indian currency incident, when draw cash from an HDFC ATM at Bangalore, the entire Rs12000/ was of 1000 rupees denomination and completely fake currency..Luckily the bank had already circulated a statement signifying therein that from a particular serial number fake currency have been fed in to the ATMs.
    Similarly, at Chennai, when money was exchanged Rs 500/ denomination currency was fake, It even had the watermark and silver thread as in original.
