Udupi, Feb 12: Brahmavar Block Congress Samithi in association with Kemmannu, Kallianpur, Uppoor and Havanje village panchayats hosted Congress workers' conference on Sunday February 10 near Santhekatte junction here.
Prior to the conference a vehicle rally was taken from Santhekatte through Uppoor, Kolalgiri, Havanje, KG Road, Nejar, Kemmannu, Hoode, Bengre, Gujjarbettu, Nidamballi, Kallianpur to Santhekatte junction. Large number of Congress workers and well-wishers of Pramod Madhwaraj participated in the rally.
Congress leader Janardhan Tonse welcomed the guests and the gathering.
The programme began with the lighting of lamp by Pramod Madhwaraj, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, former central minister C M Ibrahim, M A Ghafoor, and Veronica Carnelio.
In his speech, Pramod Madhwaraj spoke on the state budget and the kind of situation created by the government.
C M Ibrahim explained BJP’s 'election mantra' to attract majority of Hindus and how equality was maintained from the beginning by Congress.
