Mangalore, Feb 11: Gaurav Shetty, son of Vijay Shetty and Bhagirathi Shetty, who is physically and mentally challenged, was one among those felicitated on ‘Talents Day’ organized by UBMC Higher Primary School, Gorigudde, in association with the Parents-Teachers Association.
Gaurav is a student of class three and is keenly interested in extracurricular activities. He won first prize in fancy dress competition at the cluster, zonal, taluk, and district levels in ‘Prathibha Karanji’.
Shaun Ramond Alster D’ Souza, son of Anil and Irin D’ Souza, who is physically challenged and a student of class four, was felicitated on this for his performance in academics.
Physically challenged Wilsonroy Almeida, son of Michel Almeida and Gracy Almeida, is a student of class three, and was also felicitated on this occasion.
Fr Winfred Ammana, in his presidential address, lauded the work of missionaries and appreciated the teachers who were behind the success of this programme.
Joshi Ammana, Fr Andrew John, Vani Shree, Vital, principal of Kittel Memorial Pre-university College, Mangalore, Jyothi Frank, William Hary Sathyaveera, president, Parents-Teachers Association, Gopal Yekkur, vice-president, Parents-Teachers Association, and Jacintha were present on this occasion.
