Manesar (Haryana), Feb 6 (IANS): A top National Security Guard (NSG) official Wednesday said the ingenuity of Naxalites in using IEDs in Jharkhand is worrisome.
At an international conference organised by the National Bomb Data Centre (NBDC) here, Director General of National Security Guard (NSG) Arvind Ranjan said the ingenuity of Naxalites in planting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) within the corpse of a dead soldier in Jharkhand was "beyond imagination".
Ranjan was addressing a two-day international conference "Countering IEDs Strategy and Training", which is being attended by nearly 160 delegates from abroad. They include paramilitary forces, police, research institutions, army and air force personnel and others.
Ranjan said: "The scourge of terrorism can only be defeated by a sustained and comprehensive approach involving the active participation and collaborations of all states, relevant organisations and civil society. The danger of IED technology is not disappearing. Rather, it is proliferating."
Naxalites had planted an IED in the body of a dead soldier in Jharkhand's Lather district in January. The bomb was discovered during the post-mortem examination of the body.
