New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS): India won't be hasty about normalising ties with Pakistan following the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said Thursday.

"(We are) advising everybody don't be hasty about normalisation. Wait and watch, that is our approach," Antony told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

There had been reduction in tension along the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan following talks between their directors general of military operations (DGMOs), he said.

"But we can't lower our guard. We have to be vigilant 24X7."

The DGMOs of India and Pakistan had Jan 16 agreed to de-escalate tension along the LoC.

Antony said the forces were taking all precautions to face any eventuality and the government was not in a hurry over normalisation.

Two Indian troops were killed and their bodies mutilated near the LoC Jan 8. One of the Indian soldiers was beheaded and the head carried away by the raiders.

India earlier put on hold operationalisation of visa on arrival for senior citizens of Pakistan following tensions on LoC.

The external affairs ministry did not give two Pakistani diplomats approval to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival.
