Indian, Pakistani armies exchange sweets on LoC

Jammu, Jan 26 (IANS): Pakistani and Indian troops exchanged sweets Saturday on the occasion of India's 64th Republic Day Saturday, only weeks after they clashed on the Jammu and Kashmir border.

The exchange of sweets took place at Chakan-da-Bag along the Line of Control (LoC) as a goodwill gesture, continuing a tradition that mark such occasions, officials here said.

At Suchetgarh on the international border, about 40 km west of Jammu, the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers also exchanged sweets.

India-Pakistan relations took a hit after New Delhi accused Pakistani troops of brutally killing two Indian soldiers along the LoC Dec 8 and beheading one of them.

Pakistan accused Indian troops of killing two Pakistani soldiers on two separate days.

In retaliation to the beheading and the mutilation of the other soldier, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared that there can be no business as usual with Pakistan.

The Indian and Pakistani armies have been greeting each other on the LoC, which divides Jammu and Kashmir between the two countries, ever since a ceasefire came into effect in 2003.

Pakistan is one country which can never be trusted under any circumstance. With my personal experience with these people while in gulf countries, I can vouch, not only the Govt of Pakistan even the citizens of this country are filled with venom. They cannot see the progress of India. When Mrs Indira Gandhi was assassinated, these people had distributed sweets among themselves in front of Indian employees. Forget about Indians, they themselves have great hatred among their own people like Mujahirs (Karachi people), Patans, Punjabis, Shias, Ahmedias etc, etc. Pakis are sweet talkers but back stabbers.

    Dear Dinesh,Alwyn and others,
"Pakistani and Indian troops exchanged sweets Saturday on the occasion of India's 64th Republic Day Saturday."
Not only pakistani soldiers presented sweets to indian soldiers, and indian soldiers too presented sweets to pakistani soldiers on the occassion of republic day. If two countries are coming closure and want to live in peace and avoid war and destruction what is the harm. HATRED is not the solution.
NO ONE IS PERMANENT HERE, EVERYBODY HAS TO GO ONE DAY FROM THIS WORLD, THEN WHY HATRED.
Mahatma Gandhi said" blood can't be washed with blood, you need water to wash it"

Many Muslims nurture Sheep and Goats with nuts and fruits few days before they cull them as “Qurbaan” for Bakri Eid. This is the same story of Pakis, who offer sweets on special occasions, but send the message through bullets only. There is proverb in Hindi that “Dost ka khushboo se aur Dushman ki Chaal se Pahechan hona chahiye”

Please dont trust ABC who is danger to our Hindustan.Sweet may turn into poison and end up dying many more soldiers. Pakis has no good intention of hindus or Christians who has only hatred towards us and one has to be very careful keeping or maintaining relationship with evil minded murderers. best thing is close the door for pakis and India wil prosper double as we progress. We have peace, great human resources with inteligence, great culture, respect globally which is much enough and paki only harm us with thier corrupt menttally to destroy us.
