New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS): The capital woke up to another chilly morning Monday with the minimum temperature settling five notches below average at 2.4 degrees Celsius. It was, however, marginally higher than the minimum recorded early Sunday, which was lowest in five years at 1.9 degrees Celsius.
Fog enveloped the city early morning with visibility dropping to around 500 meters at 8:30 a.m., while humidity remained high at 97 percent.
"Temperature during the day is likely to reach a maximum of 13 degrees Celsius and the day will be clear," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The maximum temperature Sunday was nine notches below the season's average at 11.8 degrees Celsius.
