Mangalore, Dec 6: St Christopher’s hostel day was celebrated on November 5 at the hostel premises. The managing committee members of the St Christopher’s Association (R) and the residents of the St Christopher’s Hostel took part in the celebrations.
Nigel Pereira, president, Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh (R), Central Committee was the chief guest, Fr Stany Goveas, spiritual director and treasurer of the association was also present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by Sonia Monteiro. Victor Menezes, president of the association welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest.
Hostel warden, Herold D’ Souza, read the annual report. Fr Stany Goveas expressed happiness about the discipline and working of the hostel and appreciated the office bearers’ efforts and concern towards the up keeping of the hostel. He had all praise for the hostellers for their cordial relationship in the hostel.
The chief guest congratulated the managing committee and the office bearers of the association for providing such a hostel in the heart of the city and at such a low tariff. He also was pleased with the good relationship and co-operation among the hostel residents.
The president, Sushil Noronha also spoke on the occasion. Raymond D’ Cunha, the assistant secretary conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks. Francis D’ Souza, the vice president was on the dais.
