Mangalore: Journalist Naveen Soorinje's Bail Plea Rejected

Mangalore, Nov 18: The third JMFC court has rejected the bail to journalist Naveen Soorinje who was recently arrested in connection with the July 28 attack on Padil home stay.
Though investigation of the bail plea was done by November 13, the court decision was given on Saturday November 17 afternoon.
The court said that Naveen was not able to deny his presence during the attack at Padil. The charges regarding robbery against him should be questioned in the sessions court, it said.
Moreover, it is not possible to take decision on the case as various public interest litigations have been filed in the court.
The judge during the hearing said that bail pleas of other accused in the same case were also denied.
Police arrested Naveen Soorinje on November 8 charging him as accused for recording footage of the Padil Home stay attack.
