Kasargod: Daring Thief Hides in House, Gets Away with Big Booty

Kasargod, Nov 15: In a daring act, a thief hid himself in a house at Manjeshwar even as the family was present, and managed to escape with gold and cash worth several lacs of rupees!
The incident took place near Kunjathoor in Manjeshwar, at a house belonging to K P Mohammed Kunhi.
The thief entered the house and hid himself all day in a room, waiting for the right moment. Once he was sure the family members had gone to bed and were sound asleep, he struck.
The family slept in two rooms upstairs and one room downstairs. It is learnt that the thief was hiding in one of the rooms upstairs. The family members were oblivious to his presence.
On Wednesday November 14 morning, when one of Kunhi's daughters, Fazila, went to the kitchen, she noticed that an induction cooker was missing. The front door of the house was found to be open, unlocked from the inside.
The theif after looting the house had escaped from the front door and fled the place!
He made away with 70 sovereigns of gold from the cupboard, Rs 19,000 in cash, and Rs 2,000 from Fazila’s husband Mohammad’s trouser pocket.
Manjeshwar police arrived at the spot. Investigations are on.
