Dubai: Fun Rules the Day at Emirates Putturians Annual Celebrations

Dubai, Nov 11: The annual get-together of Emirates Putturians was held on Friday November 9 at Rocky’s Club, Regent Palace Hotel, Karama here.
The event started with a prayer by Uttam at 11:30 am. People from Al Ain, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other places witnessed the event, thereby making up a gathering of more than 250.
Alex Gonsalves, president of the Association welcomed the gathering, Gilbert Mascarenhas accompanied by Amanda Gonsalves were incharge of the registration.
The programme had an added charm with foot-tapping numbers by local band “Party Spinners” comprising Rosal Sequeira, Milan Baptist, Vincent Rodrigues, Roshan Carlo, Nisha Sequeira, Winson, Jason and the dance performances showcased by Arun Lobo’s “Feat Beat” group, added a special essence that won the hearts of the audience. DJ MAS (Anil Mascarenhas) with his fusion of songs made the crowd get off their seats and join the dance floor.
Ajit Coelho vice-president felicitated the main sponsors Michael D’Souza and Lancy Madtha and all the support sponsors Simon D’Mello, Lacnor, Milco, Sapil, C Madhu Kumar of Bonton Tours and Travels LLC, Joseph Mathias, James Mendonca, Al Faris Group, Pais Brothers, Victor Fernandes, Oswald Madtha, Gilbert D’Souza of Al Tabadul Auto Maintenance Work Shop, Sharjah, Lancy Serrao, Vitus Dsouza, and Anil Navil D’Souza, with a special note of thanks to Oswald Lobo, the representative at Puttur.
The African dance performance by Oswald Madtha and Sujay D’Silva alongside Feat Beat choreographed “Dennana Dennana” further enthused the crowd.
Silvia Pinto, a distinguished member of the association arranged gift hampers/take aways sponsored by Sapil Style Scents, MILCO and LACNOR.
The novelty bandannas with 'Emirates Putturians' printed on them were of utmost interest among the audience who bought them, thereby becoming participants for the novelty draw which was coordinated by Antony, Arleen, Nirmala and Silvia Pinto.
The leftover bandannas were bought in auction by Oswald Madtha, who in turn was the luckiest person for the day bagging most of the novelty gifts.
The winners bagged free visit visa, LCD, rice cookers, blenders, ironing boxes, gift hampers by Sapil Style scents, Desert Safari vouchers, Dhow Cruise vouchers, dinner vouchers for a couple from Canara restaurant, tickets for Wilson Olivera Nite etc.
The delicious food at the venue together with the traditional Mangalorean dhukra maas and sanna’s from Canara Restaurant were enjoyed by the gathering.
It was truely a day to cherish for every Putturian who attended the event. The day concluded at 5.30 pm with an energetic baila by the Party Spinners band.
