Srinagar, Novem Nov 3 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed Saturday he had surrendered two of the three LPG connections in his name.
"As promised two of the three LPG connections surrendered this morning," Abdullah posted on the micro-blogging Twitter site Saturday morning.
As per new norms by oil companies, one family can hold only one authorised LPG connection.
Abdullah is not the only one to have more than one LPG connection.
Kashmir has been in the throes of an unprecedented LPG crisis since the petroleum ministry announced a maximum of six LPG cylinders per year on which a household can claim subsidy.
Artificial scarcity, black marketing and hoarding of LPG cylinders has been witnessed in the Valley after the cap on LPG subsidy was announced.
