Mangalore, Nov 1: During a BJP press meet Monappa Bhandary criticized former MLA Vijyakumar by saying that ‘Vijaya Kumar was a rejected person in Congress’. Ivan D'souza stated this while addressing a press meet at the District Congress office..
He also said that, Vijayakumar in retaliation, has opined his views on the corruption of BJP government in the state.
"Congress is a strong opposition party in the state. In the democratic system, the opposition party has every right to criticize the ruling party, which is exactly what Vijay Kumar did".
"Bhandary has slandered Vijayakumar personally which is not fair politics and culture”, said Ivan D’ Souza addressing a press meet held at the district congress office, here on November 1.
Ivan D'Souza also slammed the state government and added,“the central government has released Rs 80,000 crore to implement various development projects but none has any clue if the state has used it wisely".
He also demanded adequate explanation for the amount of expenditure on MLA's for the government; bribes spent on judges; properties for self use. He also wanted an explanation on the account of the mines of Ballekere.
He stated that the former chief minister Sadhanandha Gowda owns two houses in Mysore, two houses in Bangalore, two houses in Mangalore, a complex in Bangalore. The reason for his financial stability and the stated properties is not known.
Ivan D’ Souza criticized Kumara Swamy saying that he brought BJP into power, and that Swamy has no right to criticize Veerappa Moily.
"In the next election, the public vote will show BJP and JDS who rules better", Ivan claimed.
Bajjal Ashraf, Meril Lobo, Abdul Aziz, Nazir Bajjal, T K Sudhir, Praveen Chandra Alva, Sathish Pengala, Shareef Malik were also present on the occasion.
