Cooking Gas Price Hiked by Rs 26.50 to Rs 922 Per Cylinder

Cooking Gas Price Hiked by Rs 26.50 to Rs 922 Per Cylinder

New Delhi, Nov 1 (PTI): The price of non-subsidised cooking gas (LPG), which consumers buy beyond the cheaper quota of six cylinders, was today hiked by Rs 26.50 to Rs 922 per unit on firming international rates.

The 14.2-kg cooking gas cylinder that consumers buy beyond their entitled six bottles at subsidised rates, will now cost Rs 922, up from Rs 895.50 in Delhi, according to Indian Oil Corp, the nation's largest fuel retailer.

The government had in September restricted the supply of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders to six per household in a year.

Any requirement above this will have to be bought at market rate, which is more than double the subsidised price of Rs 410.42 per cylinder in Delhi.

State-owned oil firms revise rates of non-subsidised LPG on 1st of every month based on the average imported cost and rupee-US dollar rate during the previous month.

There is no restriction on the number of non-subsidised cylinders that a consumer buys beyond the six subsidised bottles.

The price of commercial 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1,105.5, while that of a 19-kg bottle would be Rs 1,551.

A commercial or non-domestic cylinder was previously priced at Rs 1,075 per 14.2-kg bottle. Similarly, the 19-kg cylinder was priced at Rs 1,536.5.

Rates of non-subsidised 14.2-kg cylinder and those of commercial bottles of the same size differ because the government has granted exemption from customs and excise duty on non-subsidised LPG cylinders only for domestic consumption to reduce the price burden on the common man.

Baayiyo aur behano ye hai India.Don't have to cry or scream. This is our policy.Whether common man live or die, survive or not survive,no matter,we are not bothered about common man.Only common people like us must grumble.Fact is oil companies and government is hand in gloves.Everybody knows and BJP is supporting it indirectly. Now you choose which government you prefer congress or BJP at the centre? Now government started giving dividend by this way.We are now reaping the result of what we have sow.Because we are the one who have elected those corrupt politicians to higher post to rule our country. Now everybody realized how they are ruling our country and they themselves do not know where they are heading?Really government makes the common man's life miserable and pathetic.God only should intervene.God protect us.

No one is forcing anyone to buy gas cylinder. Government is subsidising 6 cylinders per year at HALF the the price. If any user of gas is not satisfied with the subsidy given by the government can opt any other means.
The reason for not giving subisdy for more than 6 cylinders is given here. Let the State Government take up subsidy for more than 6 cylinders.
It is same like Petrol - if goa can subsidise why not Karnataka
Here there are some hardcore BJP\bajarangs who always complain alhough they are in the know how abt this price rise.
Those who complain go back to using wood\leaves\coconut leaves etc or even cowdung which is their wealth from the cows!!!!

LPG is obtained when crude oil is cracked as bye-product, why charge it on the basis of Gas Imported inclusive of customs or any other taxes?
"Aam Aadmi" Fleeced by Oil Giants in collusion with Governments who get paid to support their daylight robbery.
Use Induction Cookers as suggested by-deepa suvarna, udupi.
I am promoting it to ALL-
    Benefits:
Takes half the time of Gas to Boil or cook. Saves time as well as money as only cooking vessel gets heated leaving the surroundings heat free.
    Draw-back:
Can only use Induction Compliant vessels like Magnetised steel, induction based Aluminium, Iron Flat bottomed, Ceramic coated or non-stick with induction base fixed vessels.
But it needs one time investment as basic vessels are 3 or 5, which last almost lifetime.
Electricity goes in the middle of cooking just remove it & place it on gas or any other cooking medium.
I'm using it from 1 month. Cost per month will be Rs.300-400 only.
Some companies give 3 vessels free along with their cooktops.
    Happy Cooking!

People need to protest! price rise is unbearable to common people. Economic liberalization has actually widened the Gap of rich and poor!
See Real Estate Prices, Gold etc.
In the wake of Kejriwals revelations, to curb prices, Govt. should consider INDIRA GANDHI's methods like nationalizing Petroleum Companies/Banks/Land reforms etc.
She was sensitive to poor, whereas NDA/UPA is not as revealed by Kejriwal. They frame economic policies to please BIG CORPORATES, not common man.

That is why honest JAIPAL REDDY was removed and Moily was appointed. Moily can not do anything for Mangalore and as well as for country.

Moily can make good amount of money - directly from Ambani Group

"India shining" is this really true? only talk. Everywhere corruption. From lower level to higher level, everywhere. Is this the meaning of shining? our political leaders make big statements. Just see the situation of Suratkal-Kundapoor highway development. it has become "Mratyu koopa". job is abandoned inbtwn. Is any leader bothered about this? daily so many accidents. Even if any bridge started construction, within few days it will collapse or crash. Is this the meaning of superpower? our political leaders r busy in fighting.R they really bothered about common person? prices r getting increased and our "Bombe" prime minsiter is saying Indian economy is booming.God has to save this country.
