Mangalore, Oct 25: B Ramachandra, managing partner of Chiramath Precision expired on the morning of October 25.
Bantwal Ramachandra Acharya, son of contractor late Gangayya Acharya and late Akkamma Acharya was born on December 24 1945.
B Ramachandra had around 40 years experience in precision technology and was the promoter and managing partner of the firm.
After completing his primary education in Cascia High School and College at Government College in 1968 he joined Hebich Technical Institute, Mangalore to study Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
His outstanding brilliancy and extraordinary interest in mechanical field made him to secure first rank in the Institute and he had been appointed as a tutor in the same institute for four years.
Inspite of a good opportunity in India, his interest to study in depth, in detail encouraged him to go to Switzerland with the help of J A Monnin one of the tutor in the institute.
After completing 11 years profession at M/s Monnin Feres, Switzerland, in 1987 he established M/s Hawa Industries in Mangalore. Overcoming all the difficulties in 1991 he started M/s Chiramith Precision (India) a 100% Export Oriented Unit with six machines.
B Ramachandra Acharya was also honored by International buyers appreciating his service, quality of products, quantity of export.
In recognisation of above achievements B Ramachandra was honoured by Government of Karnataka as the best industrialists in 1995-1996 and by Aryabhata Award, 2000-2001 for his outstanding performance in industry. Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore presents Exports Award 2002 in recognition of securing first place under Precision Watch Parts catergory.
Indian Economic Development and Research Association (IEDRA) presented him with the “Bhartiya udyog ratan award, 2002” for individual achievements and national development.
He has offered his services as trustee in Sri Kshetra Chakrapani Gopinatha Temple and is a member of Sri Kalikamba Vinayaka Temple, Sri Raktheshwari Temple, Sri Shaneeswara Temple. He worked towards overall development of devotional and cultural activities.
