Moodbidri: Explosive Materials Found at Kadandale

Moodbidri, Oct 22: Large quantities of explosive materials were found in a sewer on Sunday October 21 in a land belonging to the ‘Pobsons’ company near Paladka-Kadandale, creating panic among the locals.
The explosive materials were sighted by Harish Poojary, when he took his cattle for grazing. He assumed that the explosives might be have been stored by naxalites and immediately informed the police.
The police arrived at the spot and seized the explosives.
Sources said that the explosives belonged to the ‘Pobsons’ stone mining company and around 4,923 detonator sticks which were kept in gunny sacks and plastic bags were dumped in the sewer.
The explosives were kept in a forest area which was around one and a half kilometer away from the company.
Police while investigating found that the detonator belonged to the company and is now kept at a safer location. Legal action will be conducted after a complete investigation of the case, said police sources.
It is learnt that three people died last year due to explosions that took place at the Fobsons Company.
Under the guidance of Mangalore commissioner, circle inspector AK Thimayya, PSI Ramesh Kumar, Tashildar Basavaraj visited the spot and carried out investigation.
