New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS): The Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon Tuesday after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) members disrupted the house proceedings over the issue of violence in Assam and its echo in Mumbai and to press demand that black money stashed abroad be brought back to the country.
Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the house after NDA members led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) refused to allow proceedings and rushed towards the speaker's podium over the issue.
NDA ally Shiv Sena demanded statement from Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on violence in Mumbai that claimed two lives and left over 50 people injured. The BJP on Monday supported Baba Ramdev's indefinite fast against black money and corruption.
Amid the chaos, the Communist Party of India-Marxist members rushed to the well demanding food security bill be tabled in the house.
