Mangalore, Aug 10: Karnataka State Biofuel development board in association with DK Zilla Panchayath and Taluk Panchayath, celebrated the “World Biofuel Day” on Friday the August 10 at the auditorium of the Taluk Panchayath, Mangalore.
The programme began at 11:20 am on arrival of the chief guests. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by Bhaya Gangadhar, taluk panchayath president, Vijayalaxmi, Taluk panchayath vice president, Dr Vijay Prakash, CEO, Zilla Panchayath and Vasudeva, NITK officer. Dhanalaxmi Janardhan , ZP Vice President was also present on the dais.
“There is a need to preserve the nature and the greenery. Nature should not be affected by any means. The destruction of forest is the destruction of nature. The government has given a wide range of support towards cultivation and farmers, in the country. Issues over implementing biofuel technology in the rural employment schemes will be discussed soon” said Dr Vijay Prakash while addressing the gathering.
The spokesperson for the programme, Vasudeva, explained the importance and uses of the biofuel. A visual display of the uses of biofuel was also displayed on this occasion.
