Bangalore, Jul 21: Bangalore Archbishop Bernard Moras launched Karnataka regional youth convention website at the Archbishop’s House, on Friday July 20.
Archbishop, who is also the president of Karnataka Regional Catholic Bishops Council (KRCBC), inaugurated by clicking on the specially designed website, www.yuvajanotsava.kryc.org.
Expressing his joy over the forthcoming regional youth convention – Karnataka Yuvajanotsava, Archbishop Moras urged: “The youth should not hesitate to declare their Catholic identity. Youth must declare their discipleship of the Lord and love the Church.”
Earlier chairman of the KRCBC youth commission Bishop Henry D’Souza in his welcome address introduced the salient features of the website such as online registration facility, diocese and parish wise data of the entire region.
Bishop D’Souza said that over 1,500 youth leaders from all the parishes of the region would participate in the three day convention scheduled to be held from September 28 to 30. Over 5,000 youth would attend the youth rally on the final day.
Present on the occasion were Bishop Thomas Vazhapilly of Mysore, Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo, newly appointed first Bishop of Udupi, Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore, Bishop Thomasappa Anthony Swamy of Chikmagalur, Bishop Robert Miranda of Gulbarga, Archdiocesan PRO Fr Anthony Swamy, Fr Mari Joseph, Karnataka regional youth director, Emmanuel Santhosh, regional youth president, Catholic leaders Ronald Colaco, Roy Castelino, JR Lobo and others.
Fr Mari Joseph informed that the registration for the convention is already open and only Catholic youth of the age group 15-30, residing in Karnataka may register.
