Delhi Police Constable Commits Suicide in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, Jul 15 (IANS): A 45-year-old constable deputed for the security of a senior Delhi Police official committed suicide by shooting himself with his service gun here Sunday, police said.

Virender Singh, a head constable with the security cell of Delhi Police, shot himself in the chest at the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravi Shankar's sector 23 residence here, Investigation Officer Devicharan said.

Singh's colleagues told police that he looked tense in the morning after returning from his home in Wazirabad village.

Shankar was home when the constable shot himself. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
