Minor Sexually Abused in Bangalore

Bangalore, Jul 14 (DHNS): A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly abusing a seven-year-old girl sexually at Budamanahalli in Rajanukunte in Bangalore Rural district.

The police have arrested the accused. A case of attempted rape and molestation has been registered against him. The police said Manjunath (22) was closely related to the victim’s family. He was the nephew of a tutor, who teaches the victim and her elder sister at their house. Being a close relative, he used to frequently visit their house.

On July 9, the girl was alone at home and all other members of the family were busy outside when the accused came to her house. He allegedly molested the girl. When the victim tried to raise an alarm, the youth threatened her and beat her up. The girl was frightened but did not resist, although she was bleeding.

Before the accused could make any more advances, the girl’s mother arrived, said the police. Manjunath then escaped from the house. The victim then narrated the incident to her mother.

For nearly four days, the family was in a dilemma whether to report the matter to the police fearing that they might be stigmatised by society. Finally, they decided to lodge a complaint with the police on Thursday. The police arrested the accused the same day and sent the girl for medical examination. Police sources said the girl is terribly shaken due to the sexual assault on her.

The incident comes close on heels of the alleged sexual assault by a French consul staff Pascal Mazurier on his three-year-old daughter about two months ago at his residence in the City.
