Replying to a query by a senior journalist as to what made the officials exclude the schools in interior and backward areas in their scheduled visit, Dr Vijayprakash said that the programme will be on till Tuesday July 31, and Thursday was merely the first day of the campaign, and on the rest of the days all the government schools in the district will be visited by the officials. He assured that all the schools will be covered under this campaign without failure.

During the Shalegagi Neevu campaign, attendance of children, their uniforms, conditions of toilets in the schools, library facility, and health of the children will be discussed among other pro-education activities.

Responding to a query, DDPI Moses Jayashekar said that in the district, two schools were made to close down due to a lack of students and in case students turn up in future, the schools will be reopened.
