Bangalore, Jul 2: Yet another ruling BJP MLA S Muniraju representing Dasarahalli assembly constituency, who has been accused of land grab, will be formally chargesheeted within 15 days, the Lokayuka police informed the Lokayukta special court on Monday.
Muniraju and two others are accused in a complaint of claiming ownership of one acre 15 guntas at Kereguddadahalli which did not belong to him.
The Lokayukta Investigating Officer in the case, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjunath informed the judge N K Sudhindra Rao that sanction to prosecute the MLA has been received from State Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah.
After the Lokayukta police informed the court that the chargesheet would be filed within 15 days, the Judge adjourned the case to July 13.
The Lokayukta police have already submitted their investigation report in the case.
In his complaint Puttaswamy, a resident of Dasarahall,i had alleged that his mother-in-law had been granted 1 acre 15 guntas of land through a government declaration at Kereguddadahalli in the eighties but the MLA, misusing his power, claimed that the property belonged him.
The high court had ruled that the land belonged to his mother-in-law and directed the MLA to vacate it. But the BJP MLA refused to give up the land, the complainant alleged.
He alleged that the MLA had ''misused” his position as an MLA by influencing the Tahsildar and had usurped the land.
