Udupi: Thieves Break into Doctor's House, Decamp with Valuables Worth Rs 5.7 Lac

Udupi, Jun 23: Thieves broke into a doctor's house at Hayagreeva, Indrali in Manipal here and decamped with valuables and cash worth lacs.

Hayagreeva resident Dr Ashok and his wife had locked their house and left for Bangalore on June 8. On June 20, the thieves broke open the front door of the house and stole expensive items and valuables.

The theft was discovered on June 21 by the maid.

Valuables and cash worth Rs 5.7 lac including silver ornaments and items, Rs 60,000 in cash and 200 US dollars were stolen.

Police arrived at the spot and conducted investigations with the help of fingerprint experts and canine squads.

Manipal police have registered a case.
