Lobo, Mangalore, it's no use blaming KSRTC or Private buses for the accidents. These illiterate or semi-literate drivers are always rash in both the sectors and they do not seem have learned from the past tragedies, at least 90 % of which are due to their negligence or overspeeding.

Yesterday I drove from Bangalore to Udupi. The way they drive is horrible. The buses do not have pick up still they overtake despite opposite vehicle's presence. I had to either stop or slip down the road to avoid them. This can 't be done from Sakaleshpur to Mangalore since slipping down the road ends up in a valley. Put headlights and overtake. Horrible drivers. Think that the ordinary buses as VOLVOs.

Looking at the pictures of the damaged bus, it appears, that the side impact bars, which protect the passengers during collission, and are very much a part of the saftety systems of a vehicle are missing.

If safety was given more importance, while building the body of the bus, ONE LIFE would have been saved.
