Udupi, Jun 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with Bharatiya Jana Sangh/ Indian People's Alliance will organize a 'Jail Bharo' protest in the district on Friday June 22.
At Udupi, five Vidhan Sabha centres will be included in this protest/ road block and bandh. The purpose of the protest is to show the UPA government that the public is not happy with the current political and economic status of India. “Jail Bharo” will help the common people to sort out issues such as corruption, petrol price hike etc
People including kids and elders will protest on the road against different issues of the government, said K Udhaya Kumar Shetty, district BJP president.
He said that during the Congress tenure at the central government, there have been several price hikes on different items. "BJP always reduced the prices in every tenure. 2004 onwards UPA Government did nothing for the public other than hiking prices. Day to day life of the common man has been extremely difficult in recent times, he said.
“Jail Bharo” will be organized on June 22 at various places in the district - Udupi DC office at 10 am, Kaup bus stand at 10 am, Karkala bus stand 9.30 am, Kundapur, Shastri Circle at 10 am, Baindoor, Hejamadi NH bus stand at 10 am.
