Udupi: Train Passenger Offered Chocolate Laced with Sedative, Robbed

Udupi, Jun 18: In yet another case of train robbery, a man from Bailakere here was robbed of his valuables after he passed out on eating a chocolate offered by a stranger.
K Kishore had boarded the Mangala express from Madgaon in Goa to Udupi on Friday June 15 night.
When the train reached Byndoor, a stranger introduced himself to Kishore and offered a chocolate. Minutes after eating it, Kishore felt drowsy and slept soundly. He regained consciousness when the train reached Barkur, but slept once more. When he woke up at Indrali, the stranger was nowhere to be seen.
Kishore's valuables worth Rs 42,600, including a laptop, 16 grams of gold ornaments, ATM card, two mobile phones, passport, driving licence, PAN card and Rs 600 in cash, were missing, allegedly stolen by the stranger.
The theft took place on Saturday June 16 between 2 and 2.30 pm.
Manipal Konkan Railway police have registered a case.
