Bangalore, Jun 12: The high court on Monday June 11 rejected the interim bail plea of Vittal Malekudiya, a journalism student of Mangalore University, who was arrested on for his alleged connection with Naxals.
The interim bail plea was rejected by Justice Subash B Adi, the inquire in-charge. Inquiry on the main bail request is still on.
On inquiry, strong evidences which prove Vittal’s connection with the Naxal have been found. He is accused of having provided food and shelter to the Naxals and is also said to have attended a 2-week long Naxal training camp. Pamphlets relating to Naxal activities and a binocular which is said to have been used by the naxals for their activities, and other Naxal related materials have been found in Vittal’s room. Vittal is also facing allegations relating to anti-social crimes.
The offences faced by Vittal are liable to life time imprisonment or even death penalty. Inquiry is under progress.
In order to finish the inquiry successfully, full investigation and enquiry is a must and so he cannot be released on bail, it is said.
