Bantwal, Jun 9: The ordination ceremony of Carmelite deacon Praveen Frank, a parishioner of Infant Jesus parish, Modankap, was held at the parish on Friday June 8.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore ordained deacon Praveen Frank as priest during the Eucharistic celebration held at Modankap parish.
Karnataka and Goa Provincial Superior Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Modankap parish priest Fr Rocky D’Souza, Fr Peter Noronha, Fr Pius James D’Souza, Fr Peter D’Sa, Fr Elias Frank, Fr John Sequeira, Fr Gregory D’Souza, and many clergies were present during the Eucharistic celebration.
The newly-ordained Carmelite clergy Fr Praveen Frank will serve the overseas mission centers in the African nation of Tanzania.
A felicitation programme for Fr Praveen Frank was held after the Eucharistic celebration at the parish hall on Friday.
Fr Praveen Frank’s parents Everest and Delphin Frank, Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Fr Rocky D’Souza, Fr Valerian Frank, Fr Elias Frank, Fr Wilfred Frank, and Tanzania missions representative Fr Peter D’Sa were present on the dais.
Carmelite Brothers and Modankap parish choir sang the felicitation song. Fr Elias Frank welcomed the gathering. Fr Wilfred Rodrigues compered the programme. Fr Praveen Frank thanked everyone for attending his ordination ceremony.
Twelve Carmelite deacons have been ordained in Karnataka and Goa province in 2012 so far.
