Mangalore, Jun 8: Presenting details of the programmes introduced by the BJP government in the education field during its tenure, Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC candidate from the south-west teachers’ constituency appealed to the public to re-elect him in the upcoming Legislative Council polls.
He was addressing reporters at a press meet on Friday June 8. Karnik explained that the BJP government had started as many as 191 PU colleges, 11 engineering, and 6 medical colleges in the state. In addition, an amount of Rs 15, 7100 crore was kept for the education sector. Apart from this, as many as 45,000 lecturers were recruited for the primary, high school, PU, and degree level.
“If I am re-elected, we will start E-transfer facility,” Karnik said. “The system provides the payment of salary to the lecturers without delay as it is prevalent these days, and will allow them to get their payment by the end of each month,” he added.
He also mentioned that private people, who are willing to start ITI schools, will be granted an amount of Rs 25 lac as subsidy.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Ramesh MUDA, Devdas Shetty, Nithin Kumar, and Shrikar Prabhu were present at the meet.
