Mangalore: Siddaramaiah's Resignation is a Closed Chapter- Oscar

Mangalore, Jun 7: The issues regarding Siddaramaiah's resignation is a closed chapter, said AICC chief secretary Oscar Fernandes. He was addressing the media after campaigning for the two congress candidates, SP Dinesh and Hosur Ramesh Joyappa for the upcoming legislative elections here in St Agnes College on Thursday June 7.

Answering the query regarding Siddaramaiah’s resignation, he said that Siddaramaiah has never resigned from the party neither he has quit the party; it is just that he resigned the post of opposition leader. However, Sonia Gandhi had a discussion with Siddaramaiah, wherein the issue was solved. Therefore, the matter is closed and an old chapter, he added.

              

Just like the introduction of green revolution, by propagating the revolution made by congress in the field of education, we will campaign for this election, he continued.

We have put sincere efforts to set up programmes to curb illiteracy. In addition, initiated special plans to see that every child gets the chance to join school. Keeping this as the strong proof of our work, and to continue to bring up such programmes in the field of education, he requested to support the two eligible candidates of the congress party.

Mayor Gulzar Banu, Blossom Fernandes, congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, PV Mohan, MA Gapoor, TK Sudhir, Suresh Shetty, Radhakrishna were among others present during the campaign.

English Medium
In reply to the plan of state government to initiate English medium even in government schools, he said that it is a question of language. We must see that no child misses the school exposure. The plan should be introduced after enough discussions with the intellectuals, and the doubts have to be solved, he opined.
