Community of Goans to Propose Eduardo Faleiro as Next President of India

‘Goemche Jagrut Bharatiya Nagrik’, a group of spirited citizens of India from Goa met under the chairmanship of noted Konkani poet Yusuf A Sheikh and decided to project Eduardo Faleiro for the post of next president of India.
 
Addressing the media in press meet Sheikh said, “In this international year of decolonization, the veteran statesman and a five time Lok Sabha member from Goa, Eduardo Faleiro attracts distinctions to be the next president of India. The citizens of India from the erstwhile Portuguese colonies are yearning for long to play participatory role in all nation building activities and their sentiments deserve to be honoured.”

“Faleiro who belongs to the Christian minority community is a great patriot and undoubtedly with rich credentials stands tallest among the members of the community in India”, observed Sheikh.

A class first during his academic career and a scholar with vast knowledge of the constitutions of different countries of the world, Faleiro is extremely well qualified for the exalted honour. As the chairman of Universal Peace Federation of India for last several years, Faleiro’s role in interfaith harmony is well known. Respected and loved by all communities, Eduardo Faleiro is a pride of Goa and a great nationalist.
 
Sheikh has sought cooperation of all those involved in social and political life of Goa. The proposal is being taken up to the UPA chairman and so also NDA and all concerned parties throughout the country, Yusuf Sheikh added.

    I wish he can bring accolade to the Goan Community. But remember the muslim vote bank is much bigger and the most obvious choice would be a muslim as the tradition has always been.
