Bahrain, May 23: Bahrain Kannada Sangha is one of the most active expatriate clubs in Bahrain for the past 35 years, conducting various entertainment and cultural programs in the island. On 18th of May 2012 was also a memorable day for all the Kannadiga’s residing in the Island. Sangha celebrated “Vasanthosava 2012” with great grandeur and also the newly elected committee for the 2012-2013 was inducted during the celebration held at the Cultural hall situated near Marina Club.
The chief guest was invited from India Sree Bhimeshwara Joshi, the Darmakartha of Sree Annapooneshwari temple, Horanadu, who appreciated the work done by Kannada Sangha keeping the tradition and culture of Karnataka alive in this far away place, Bahrain. He saluted all those people for their sacrifice for the betterment our culture and passing this greatness among our children.
The main attraction was the showcasing of the dance format “Koochipudi & Kathak” by the world renowned dancers Sree Surya N. Rao & Mrs Pratham Prasad, who have specially flown in from Bangalore for this program, the audiences were mesmerized by their dance for one hour. It was an amazing experience for all those witnessed this great dance style. One more invited guest from Bangalore was the mimicry artist Ramesh Babu, who filled laughter in the auditorium with his jokes and mimicry.
Many sangha members gave away excellent dance items during this program.
There were many lucky winners, which were sponsored by Malabar Gold and Expat properties.
General Secretary Rajesh Shetty welcomed the guests, Sangha active member Kamalaksha Amin and Naveen Shetty managed the program in a professional manner.
President Mr. Rajkumar, in his speech thanked all the sponsors of this event and all those who have contributed for the success of this great show and invited all members to take the Sangha to a new height in the coming season.
