Mangalore, May 21: “Individuals are responsible for their current political situation and the party is not the reason,” said state BJP president K S Eshwarappa. He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Yuva Disha Pradarshini’, an exhibition displaying various national issues, erected at Nehru Maidan on Monday May 21. The exhibition is on public display as part of ‘Yuva Jagruthi Samavesha’ to be held on Tuesday May 22.
Eshwarappa, in his speech, said that corruption charges are being leveled against various leaders of different parties and those against whom corruption charges are levied are not ‘model’ politicians. There are corruption charges against former chief minister (CM) S M Krishna, Dharam Singh, and B S Yeddyurappa as well, thus these leaders are not models for the younger generations he said and added that former prime minister Atal Behari Vajapayee is a model leader.
He further said that no one needs to be afraid of the prevailing political turmoil and the scheduled ‘Yuva Jagruthi Samavesha’ (youth awareness convention) organized by young party workers aims at throwing light on issues like terrorism, naxalism, and love ‘jehad’ among others.
Captain Brijesh Chowta, a soldier who accompanied the state president of BJP to inaugurate the exhibition, said that in the days where the union government has been developing a doubtful eye on the military force of the nation, the BJP has made everyone think of national integrity.
Earlier, a bike rally was inaugurated at Mangala Stadium. BJP leaders deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, Padmanabha Kottari, Shreekar Prabhu, Banu Prakash, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Monappa Bhandary, Sunil Kumar, Sulochana Bhat, and Kishore Kumar were present.
