Udupi: Capuchin Friary ‘Trinity Vihar’ Inaugurated

Udupi, May 19: Capuchin friary ‘Trinity Vihar’ and chapel were inaugurated at Perampalli on Friday May 18. The newly-constructed Capuchin residence was inaugurated by Fr Baptist Menezes, Episcopal Vicar of Udupi district, and blessed by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza ,Bishop of Mangalore Diocese.
The chapel was also blessed by the Bishop prior to the mass. During the mass in the chapel, Bishop D’Souza was the main celebrant along with Fr Vincent Furtado, Provincial of Capuchins, Karnataka region, Fr Baptist Menezes, Fr J B Sequeira, superior of the convent, Fr Romeo Lewis, parish priest, Our Lady of Fatima Church, Prerampalli, and nearly 53 priests were present during the holy Eucharist mass.
During the homily address, Fr Menezes said those who loves Jesus can hear and speak with Him.
After the mass, a short felicitation programme was held. Bishop D’Souza, Fr Vincent Furtado, Dr Baptist Menezes, Fr Fredrick Mascarenhas, dean of Udupi deanery, Fr J B Sequeira, superior of Trinity Vihar Friary, Fr Romeo Lewis, parish priest of Prerampalli Church, and Sr Noella Menezes, superior of St Agnes Convent, Prerampalli, were present on the dais.
Fr Furtado gave the introduction talk on the occasion and felicitated the Bishop with shawl and flowers. On the occasion, architect Praveen Saldanha and contractor Umesh Suverna were felicitated by Fr Furtado.
Fr Sequeira, superior of the Friary, welcomed the gatherings and proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Richard Quadros compered the programme.
