Udupi, May 17: M S Rudreshwaraswamy’s Kannada poetry ‘Aa Teerada Moha’, bagged the Kadengodlu Poetry Award, stated a media release issued by the director of Rastrakavi Govind Pai Research Centre.
Rudreshwaraswamy was born in Malalakere, Davanagere taluk, on September 28, 1954. He was employed with the Indian postal department after his post graduation and took voluntary retirement while serving as senior officer and is now settled in Bangalore.
His poems have been published in many Kannada publications including ‘Mayura’, ‘Sudha’, ‘Prajavani’, ‘Vijaya Karnataka’, ‘Kannada Prabha’, ‘Sankramana’, ‘Sankalana’, ‘Shudra’, ‘Hi Bangalore’, and ‘Saki’.
Rudreshwaraswamy had recited his poetry in the poets’ session held during the ‘Udupi Sahitya Sammelan’ in 2007 and at Gangavati in 2011.
‘Preeti Mattu Neeru’, his first poetry collection published in 2009 earned him readership and the attention of critics. It bagged the poetry award instituted by Karnataka Sangh – Shimoga titled after Dr G S Shivarudrappa.
His Kannada translation of ‘Books I have Loved’ book by Osho will be released shortly.
