Mangalore, May 14: The statement of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr Parameshwar is all set to provide a new interpretation to the current political puzzle in the BJP-led state government as he offered to lend support to B S Yeddyurappa in case he separates from that party and leads his supporters to form a new government.
However, he said the high command will finalize the matter. Dr Parameshwar was speaking to reporters at Mangalore Airport on Monday May 14 enroute Kasargod to participate in the ‘Sandesha Yatre’. His statement also gains importance in the backdrop of BSY praising Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on May 13.
He added that the law and order situation in the state has declined drastically, referring to the case of assistant conservator of forests (ACF) Madan H Nayak, who was attacked by a group of tourists in Dandeli and succumbed to injuries later. He said that the BJP has lost the moral right to continue this government and stated that the Congress party is now ready to face the election.
About Yeddyurappa’s appraisal for Sonia Gandhi, Dr Parameshwar said that the BJP finally realized the fact that the Congress’s work style was widely accepted.
KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza and former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty were present.
