Mangalore, May 12: The South Canara District Central Co-operative bank informed about its annual progress and the upcoming plans in a press meet here on Saturday, May 12.
In its history of 99 years, the bank for the first time has gained a double growth of Rs 12.77 crore as a profit at the end of the financial year March 3, 2012. This victory has enabled the bank to enter centenary celebrations with utmost joy, informed chairman, MN Rajendra Kumar.
We have been providing loans to the farmers with less interest. Even after such facility given to the citizens, the profit level is not come down but rather increased, added Rajendra Kumar.
This achievement has brought laurels to SCDCC bank among other banks, the press release stated. Presently, as many as 876 organizations are the members of SCDCC bank with 28.63 share investment. In the undivided district of DK, there are as many as 35,780 self-help groups started by different organizations consisting of23,102 women.
SCDCC bank has 24,548 Navodhaya self help groups and 1, 94,012 is its strength. Mangala Kisan credit card, Yashswini Arogya Vima Yojane, jewel loans, 206 Rayithara Seva Kuta, Chaithanya Vima Yojane, house loans are some among many other facilities, provided by the bank.
Some of the upcoming projects are internet facility in all the branches, BSNL MPLS leased line to enable faster communication between the branches, mobile SMS banking service, any branch banking facility to enable direct communication with the main branch and establishing 14 more branches in the district, explained Rajendra Kumar.
