Mangalore, May 12: As Air India pilot strike continues to affect the passengers throughout the nation, both international and domestic passengers suffer most due to the revised schedule and cancellations.
According to official sources from Air India, two international flights from Mangalore have been affected on Saturday, May 12. The flight scheduled to fly at 10.00 pm is now rescheduled to 7.00 am Sunday May 13. The passengers are requested to report at airport by 5.00 am.
But the flight to Kuwait which is scheduled at 5.45 pm on Sunday May 13 has been cancelled due to pilot strike.
"Unfortunately we cannot rescheduled this flight, our next flights are also full, hence we will refund the full fare to the passengers" says the Air India source.
Gulf-bound passengers continue to face the trouble ever since pilots announced the strike earlier this week.
"The service offered by Air India staff in Mangalore is far better than Dubai offices. We have been informed well in advance, and those who have come from far have been given hotel accommodation, and those who wanted to go back to their homes have been given taxi fairs. In this case, we cannot blame Air India staff, but it is all because of pilots" says a passenger who arrived in Dubai on Saturday early morning with a rescheduled flight.
"I face maximum problems from Air India offices in Dubai who are totally irresponsible, negligent and do not teat us like guest", says the same passenger whose flight from Dubai to Mangalore was also delayed a couple of days back.
When Daijiworld contacted Air India office in Mangalore, an official told that they are trying their best to convey the message to passengers, but many passengers have not entered their contact numbers correctly. Many people do not respond to the phone calls. They hoped that they can reach such passengers through “Daijiworld".
