Mangalore, May 12: A fly over is essential to provide greater convenience for the people and save time in rush hour from heavy traffic here at Nathoor junction, said Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes.
In his visit to Nathoor junction, he examined the present condition of the junction and addressed the press persons.
The construction will immediately begin as soon as the technical problems are solved, he anticipated.
Talking about the Supreme Court’s judgment to hand over the cases of the former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa to CBI, he said that it is a welcome sign. The judgment would send a strong message to all the corrupt officials, he opined.
Reacting about the convention that was organized by the Kuruba community (the third biggest community in the state) to make their poster boy Siddaramaiah as the next chief minister, Oscar said high command and congress central election committee will take a final decision about it.
MLA K Abhaychandra Jain, municipality member Naveen D’Souza, Udupi district Congress former president M A Gapoor, Sudhir T K and Mahabala Marla among others were present on the occasion.
