Mangalore, May 10: The valedictory function of Leadership training for the teenagers mainly for high school children was held at Spandana Trust Jeppu, here on May 9.
The leadership training programme was organized for seven days. In all, 332 children participated in the programme, irrespective of caste and creed. The theme was the programme was leadership qualities, leadership in youth and various types of leadership. The themes like effect of HIV Aids in youth, rights of children, consumer rights, right to information and personality development were also part of the programme.
Sr Emma Joseph, superior Infant Mary’s convent, Jeppu, the presided of the function, encouraged the youth with her speech and stressed the need of leadership training for youth. “A pencil won’t write unless it mended and sharpen”, she added.
“The career guidance that the students got should be useful in the days to come”, she further said. She also praised the Spandana Trust and its personnel for organizing the programme.
Sr Evangeline, managing Trustee Spandana Trust, Renny D’Souza director Velarod and the resource persons May D’Sa, Jayakar, Deeksha and Suresh were present on the dais. Sr Evangeline Welcomed the gathering. Prafulla D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Victor Vas coordinator was the master of ceremony.
