Mangalore: A J Institute of Medical and Dental Sciences Celebrates Decennial

Mangalore, May 6: The decennial year celebration of A J Institute of Medical Sciences and A J Institute of Dental Sciences was held at A J Medical Auditorium on Sunday May 6.
Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that the quality education imparted by A J Institutions is laudable. “Those who pursued their education in the institutions in the coastal region have been doing better at the state, national, and even international level,” he stated.
He added that the state government had set aside Rs 15,000 crore for the education sector in the budget and 11 universities were opened.
“There is also a skill development and science and technology taskforce functioning in the state, and action has been taken to increase the number of admissions for higher medical studies,” he said. Gowda pointed out that efforts were on to make autonomous education institutions national-level institutions.
Earlier, Gowda released the souvenir of decennial year celebrations named ‘Decennia’ touching lives.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dr K S Sriprakash, vice-chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, B Janardhan Poojary, former union minister, deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, and former minister B Nagaraj Shetty were the guests of honour. A J Shetty, president, Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, presided over the programme.
Prashanth Shetty, director, Prashanth Marla, Dr M Ramesh Pai, dean, Bharath Shetty, and Prakash Shetty were present. Dr B Subhashchandra welcomed. Variety entertainment by students of A J Group of Institutions followed later.
