Beijing, May 4 (IANS): Drought has badly affected life in south China, with authorities saying at least 200,000 people and over 70,000 livestock have been hit.
According to local officials, there is a major water shortage that has damaged 31,000 hectares of crops in six counties in the city of Baise in Guangxi province, Xinhua reported.
The bureau attributed the drought to lack of rainfall.
The average temperature has been two to three degrees Celsius higher than normal.
