Mangalore: Express Bus Kills Pedestrian at Panambur Circle

Mangalore, May 2: A person identified as Ramachandra Rao (60) died on the spot at Panambur circle after an express Vishal bus plying from Mangalore to Udupi struck him down.

The incident occurred at around 5.30 pm on Wednesday May 2.
 
Rao was a resident of Kulai and had a restaurant named ‘Raghavendra Kripa’ in Panambur market area.

He had crossed one lane of the highway and was about to cross the other. At that moment, the bus hit him injuring him critically on his head.

Sources from Panambur police station said that he succumbed to injuries on the spot and a case has been registered against the driver of the bus.

    Traffic police are less in South Kanara Area and there is no control of traffic. Overtake and competition is common in Mangalore and that's why lot of accidnt.Steps shoudl be taken to stop this issue.

    Daily count of death is on. A few hundred bucks to the bus owners and the traffic police are more valuable than life.

    What is wrong with these drivers? They are on a killing spree. May the soul of Ramachandra Rao rest in eternal peace and give comfort to the deceased family and friends. How come the driver see a pedestrian crossing the highway and that too in broad daylight. The Vishal bus company should compensate to the family members.
