First T-20 International Match in Mangalore - Zimbabwe Team Arrives

Mangalore, Apr 28: The countdown has begun for the first-ever international T20 cricket match in the city, with the arrival of the Zimbabwe cricket team.
The 'Heath Streak Corporation Bank Mohtisham T20 International Cricket Cup 2012'will be held on Sunday April 29 at 2 pm at the NMPT Cricket Stadium.
The battle is going to be between Property Infratech Zimbabwe Africans and Western Institute Karnataka Indians.
Addressing a press meet at Gateway Hotel here on Saturday April 28, Joseph Rego, head, Heath Streak Foundation said that Property Infratech Zimbabwe Africans led by the former Zimbabwe Cricket captain Heath Streak has a tough challenge on hands, with the Western Institute Karnataka Indians fully geared up to battle it out against their international opponents.
Heath Streak will also launch his charity initiative 'Heath Streak Foundation', which aims at supporting underprivileged children deprived of basic education and healthcare.
Rego said that the foundation is currently in discussion with Corporation Bank to launch a “Child Education Certificate” valued at Rs 2000 that would be distributed to poverty stricken children deprived of basic education. The foundation is also in talks with Unity Hospital, the official and exclusive healthcare partners of the event.
Zimbabwe players Grant Flower, Raymond Price, Brendan tailor, Elton Chigumbura, Terry Duffin, Douglass Marillier, Charles Coventry, Mpumelelo Mbangwa and Dirk Viljoen and Karnataka Indians captain Janardhan were welcomed and introduced during the press meet. The trophy and the official t-shirt was also released on the occasion.
